Christmas at the Foodbank

25th January 2022

Christmas is a busy time at the Foodbank as more food comes in because people kindly do Christmas collections for us, and the number of referrals increases.  We give everyone referred to us in December a Christmas Hamper, full of Christmas goodies, in addition to their normal Food Parcel.  Our wonderful volunteer elves came in for 7 additional sessions to pack the Christmas Hampers, as you can see below.  In December 2021, we had 95 referrals, compared to 50-55 in a more normal month.  So, Christmas is busy, but it is wonderful to know that so many people have had some of the more indulgent food that we all tend to eat at Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who donates food to us, both to Christmas collections, and through out the year. Thank you also to those who give to us financially.  We bought quite a lot of Christmas goodies for the hampers this year using our funds!  We could not continue our work without you all.
